How to Update an iPad

You should frequently update your iPad to make sure you have the most recent version of the software. Updates to your iPad do not affect any personal information, application data or iPad settings. You can use Apple's iTunes software to check for updates and also to install any updates directly to your iPad.

Instructions
1. Open iTunes on your computer. You should be running the most up-to-date version of iTunes.

2. Connect the iPad connector to the computer and the iPad. iTunes should refresh to show your iPad in the "Devices" section of iTunes

3. Click on "iPad" in "Devices."

4. Select the "Summary" tab.

5. Click the "Check for updates" button in the middle of the screen. iTunes will check for updates for your iPad and notify you if any exist.

6. Select "OK" when prompted to install updates for your iPad
