Caring tips Processor (CPU)

Processor as the main brain of the computer can also cause problems for computers, either because they occurred overheating (overheating) so that it can make the computer restarts frequently and may die suddenly.

For that, you need some tips to keep the processor temperature, to ensure cooling processor (headsink) and fan can work properly.

Here are some things that need to be considered related to the processor:

1. Make sure the top of your processor has been smeared with thermal paste. Thermal Grease Thermal Paste or gel is a material that serves to remove heat from the processor to headsink. For silver-colored thermal paste has better quality than the white.

2. Make sure the casing has a current circulation path, because the casing is less circulation will cause the hardware components inside, including a processor, a faster heat.

Three. Trim the wires, particularly the type of ATA cables which are larger in size and width than the SATA cable. Cable tidy can facilitate the flow of air in the casing.

4. For personal computers, you may open the casing adpat, to smooth the effectiveness of air circulation, although perhaps not in accordance with the value of aesthetics and unpleasant because the hardware inside it looks from the outside.

The following key tips for caring for the processor:

1. Or disconnect the electrical contacts from your computer. Let stand a few moments to headsink cooler, then open headsink and fan of the processor.

2. Separate fan and headsink, then wipe with a damp cloth fan. Clean the slit headsink of dust, or wash using a soft brush or a brush. Drain and keep headsink no residual water in cracks headsink to avoid shorting (short).

Three. Put another fan with headsink, then attach them to the processor as in the past.

4. You can do the treatment 3 months, especially in air-conditioned room. However, if the environment a lot of dust, the treatment can be carried out once a month.

Motorola Milestone XT720

The Milestone XT720 is the latest Android handset from Motorola to be launched in Asia. Though this smartphone shares many of the features found in the original Milestone less a QWERTY keyboard, it has quite a number of new ones, too, which may appeal to someone looking for a high-end Android device. The most notable of the lot is the 8-megapixel camera complete with Xenon flash and HD-quality video-recording capability.

The XT720 is available now in Asia and goes for S$988.

Design

Though we refer to it as a keyboard-less Motorola Milestone, the design of the new XT720 is really quite different from the original. It has a sliver mirrored exterior on the front and a soft-touch dark blue finish on the back. There's a slight protrusion on the largely rectangular shape, which highlights the camera buttons and LEDs when the device is held in landscape orientation.

We like the somewhat unconventional design of the XT720, which stands out in a sea of bar-type full-touchscreen mobile phones. The build quality is also excellent, something we have come to expect from Motorola handsets. Though it has quite a large footprint, the XT720 is slim at 10.9mm and weighs 139g.

Physical buttons are found along the edges, specifically the top and the right. The top is where you'll find the power toggle beside a 3.5mm audio connector, while on the right are the volume controls, shortcut to media gallery and a camera shutter.

In a bid for a clean front facade, Motorola opted for touch-sensitive buttons below the WVGA (854 x 480-pixel) display. Though these worked well in most cases, we would have preferred physical buttons instead as occasional accidental presses are inevitable with touch-sensitive controls. This is especially infuriating when playing games or taking photos in landscape mode--a misplaced thumb can kick you out of the app and back to the Home screen. The 3.7-inch display itself is largely similar to the Milestone's and this worked well in almost all situations--no complaints there.

Charging and syncing are done via a micro-USB port on the left edge. This has a rubber cover you must remove before inserting a cable--which is a minor annoyance. Under another rubber cover on the top is an HDMI Type D connector. A Type D-to-Type A (which is the standard HDMI connector) cable is included with the standard sales package so you can output the smartphone's screen onto an external display.

On the back of the XT720 is where you'll find the 8-megapixel camera alongside a Xenon flash. A microSDHC card slot is found behind the back battery cover. We didn't like this memory expansion slot as it used a cumbersome rubber piece to hold the card in place.

Features

Like the earlier Milestone, this version uses an almost stock version of Google's mobile operating system. The Android version found in the XT720 is 2.1 (Eclair), but there will be an upgrade to 2.2 (Froyo) in the future. No specific date for this update has been announced so far.

Similar to most other Android phones, you get all the features that come with Google's smartphone platform. This includes integration with the search giant's Gmail, Calendar and Contacts services, the Android Market for downloading free apps (paid apps are not available in most of Asia) and a Webkit-based browser for surfing the Internet.

Earlier, we said the OS used is an almost stock version because Motorola has made a few changes to the interface on the Home screen. There are now fixed green and blue shortcuts there that will bring you to the phone and messaging apps quickly. There are also a few minor cosmetic changes from the default Android interface, but nothing on the scale of what Motorola has done with its Motoblur interface in some other Android phones.

Apps-wise, Motorola has included a number of preinstalled programs. One of them is the Motonav navigation app, which gives turn-by-turn driving instructions. As with the original Milestone, this will work for only 60 days, after which you have to pay 44.99 euros to continue using it. There's also the Moto Phone Portal, which lets you backup and access your phone data through your PC's Internet browser. Read our original Milestone review for more details on these features.

One software addon in the XT720 not found in the original Milestone is that of a magnifying glass for text fields. Those who have used an iPhone will find this familiar. Essentially, this brings up a small magnified area above your thumb, showing where your cursor is so you can finely adjust its location. It's an important feature if there's no physical navigator like a trackball or arrow keys.

Other Android handsets that have chosen to leave out physical navigators have implemented onscreen arrow keys to circumvent this problem, but Motorola's solution (which is really Apple's solution) is more elegant. HTC also has something similar in its Android 2.1 phones, but this works only in the browser--Moto's works in all text fields. It isn't quite as user-friendly as the Apple iPhone's because you sometimes call up the Android editing context menu instead of the magnifier, but it works well enough once you get the hang of it.

The onscreen keyboard on the XT720 is the default Android version, which gives a decent typing experience. There are, of course, better keyboards out there, so it's up to you to find and install them--that's the beauty of an open OS.

Connectivity-wise, you get everything that was found in the earlier Milestone. This includes HSDPA, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and A-GPS for navigation. There's also an FM tuner built-in for listening to the radio.

The camera found in the XT720 takes good photos and is aided by a Xenon flash in case you find yourself indoors with poor lighting. Video recording goes up to 720p (1,280 x 720) and gives clear video in well-lit conditions. Take note that we did experience a bit of shutter lag when snapping photos at full resolution, so make sure you have enough preparation time before pressing the shutter. Another feature worth mentioning is the inclusion of three LED-lit icons, which tell you whether you are shooting a video, taking a still image or accessing the image gallery.

Performance

If you look at Motorola's developer site, you will notice that the processor in the XT720 is a 720MHz TI OMAP3440. This is an improvement over the 600MHz TI OMAP 3430 in the original Milestone. RAM remains the same at 256MB. Even though its CPU is faster, we didn't feel a speed bump in our daily use. This was especially so after using the HTC Desire and Samsung Galaxy S, both of which feature 1GHz processors.

In fact, the XT720 felt more sluggish than the Milestone at certain times during our one-week review period. On two occasions, the device slowed down to a crawl and we had to shut down applications manually to address the issue. The good thing is Motorola has included its own Task Manager, so that wasn't hard to do.

On the upside, battery life is slightly improved from the Milestone. The XT720 chugged on for slight over 24 hours with two emails on auto-sync and with Twitter/Facebook auto updates turned on. Reducing the sync frequency of these services, we managed 1.5 days. With the Milestone, we were able to get 1.5 days only with social-networking apps' auto-sync turned off.

Call quality was excellent. This phone comes with Motorola's CrystalTalk technology, which is essentially the company's noise-cancellation feature. The speakerphone was also quite loud, good for handsfree use in a car.

Conclusion

If you've read our original Milestone review, you'd know that we lamented about the poor physical keyboard, which resulted in us using the soft keyboard most of the time. The XT720 should be the perfect solution to that, with improved camera quality to boot. Unfortunately, it is let down slightly by odd performance lapses. These could potentially be solved by a software update since, on paper, the raw specifications of the XT720 are an improvement over its QWERTY keyboard-enabled version.

Though we mentioned that the XT720 retails for S$988, it may not be available unlocked at stores depending on your country of residence, as Motorola may have exclusive arrangements with operators. Check with your local Motorola office or operators for details.

Intel Core i7-875K and i5-655K Unlocked

Once upon a time, not very long ago in fact, Intel vehemently frowned upon overclocking. There were even times leading up to new processor and chipset releases when it was rumored that Intel would bring an end to overclocking altogether. Thankfully, the rumors of overclocking's death were greatly exaggerated and we enthusiasts continue to practice its black magic to this very day.
Intel's distaste for overclocking has obviously dwindled over the last few years, however. Whereas before, all of the company's processors were locked and its motherboards lacked overclocking options. Now, Extreme Edition processors have unlocked multipliers and Intel motherboards have extensive overclocking tools built-in. It probably helps that Intel's current line-up of processor have massive amounts of frequency headroom left under to hood. But we digress...
Today Intel's takes its acquired taste for overclocking a step further. The company is announcing two new mainstream processor offerings, targeted squarely at overclocking enthusiasts and feature unlocked multipliers. The new Core i7-875K and Core i5-655K are virtually identical to the standard Core i7-870 and i5-650 from a technical standpoint, but with the right motherboard, users of these new K-series chips will be able to alter their multipliers to increase frequencies, without having to run any other part of the system out of spec.

ATI Radeon HD 5870 Overclocked Round-up

Enthusiasts are passionate about their hardware. While mainstream consumers target products with the best price to performance ratio, there is still a strong market for computer components that hold nothing back. For proof, look no further than Intel's latest Extreme Edition 980X processor, sporting six cores and twelve threads of pure awesome. Only a handful of applications can make use of that much processing power, but its available and ready to take on whatever you can throw at it. In the same way, the recent explosion of solid state drives has commanded a lot of attention for performance benefits that leave traditional hard drives in the dust. These products carry high price tags that have most consumers on the outside looking in, except for the niche market of enthusiasts and early adopters that pounce on cutting edge tech the millisecond it hits the shelves. And of course, high-end graphics cardsare no different in this respect, with a slew of manufacturers ready to amp things up just to draw interest from hardened performance enthusiasts...

Today we're looking at a trio of videocards that have their sights set on the enthusiast market. Factory overclocked Radeon HD 5870 graphics cards from HIS, MSI, and Gigabyte have landed in our lab and its time for another round up. Some might glance over these products and wonder what the big deal is. Any time a new series of graphics cards are launched by ATI or NVIDIA, it is common for add in board (AIB) partners to tweak various features so that consumers have even more attractive options to choose from, beyond the original reference design. The graphics cards we have setup for testing here come with increased GPU and memory speeds, promising improved performance right out of the box. In addition, the heatsinks have been redesigned to provide improved cooling in order to handle the increased frequencies that are set for their graphics engines. Read on to find out how these speed demons perform when compared to one another, and if one of them has what it takes to be your next upgrade.

Tips for Choosing the Best Computer Antivirus

here
I will share some tips for choosing antivirus.

Here are some points that need your attention
in terms of choosing antivirus software for computers,
we just started to learn and share it.

1.
You must be observant in seeing these antivirus,
whether the antivirus is sustainable in terms of
Update its database or not. This could be you
See the official websites such antivirus.

2.
Notice if the antivirus has
RTP engine (RealTimeProtectror) or not, your best
choosing antivirus engines having RTP because
with him there will memprotect Antivirus Engine
your computer from virus attacks, Malware or
Spyware suddenly.

3.
Read on the official website whether antivirus

ASRock X58 Extreme3 review

ASRock X58 Extreme3 - An enthusiast infrastructure at a budget price

The X58 chipset from Intel this year will already be two years old, that's right... two years. It is still Intel's most expensive and high-end chipset, still very capable of delivering massive performance for socket 1366 Core i7 based processors. Though Intel is not updating this chipset technology has advanced a decent chunk. Intel is riding it out as long as they can as well, people will purchase this chipset anyway. Meanwhile, USB 3.0 is bluntly ignored by them, SATA3 (6Gbit) is also ignored by Intel. And then Intel released their Core i7 980X six-core Gulftown based processor. As you can see, three new dynamics have hit the industry in the high-end segment, and for two of them... Intel is doing absolutely nothing.

That sparked ODMs to bring these new innovations to your doorsteps by inventing solutions themselves. More costly yes, but by embedding a NEC USB 3.0 controller and Marvell SATA3 6G SATA/AHCI/RAID controller onto that motherboard you can actually bring some interesting features to the table. Combine that with the successful release of Gulftown and you have just created enough incentive to re-release X58 motherboards in an updated jacket, as that is exactly what is happening anno Q2 2010 in the motherboard market.

The biggest downside of the newly added technology is that ODMs only apply the new tech onto their most high-end motherboards. The ASUS Rampage III Extreme for example will set you back 350 EUR, the new MSI X58 XPower will likely cost 375 EUR, eVGA's new QUAD SLI ready X58 Classified motherboard tops it off at 400 EUR. So if you want that X58 based platform and want to enjoy USB 3.0 and SATA3 6G, there really are no affordable alternatives... until now that is. ASRock has released a new X58 motherboard. It's loaded with extra features yet comes with SATA3 and USB 3.0. It is up-to date, has some nice extras and get this... will cost only 165 EUR or roughly 189 USD.

That price alone sparked my interest for sure as this board would need to really blow if it's not worth that money. So today we'll have a look at the more budget conscious ASRock X58 Extreme3 motherboard.

A motherboard that surprised us in many ways, have a peek at the photo and then let's head on over to the review.

eVGA GeForce GTX 465 SC review

eVGA will be putting a lot of GeForce GTX 465 SKUs on the market based in several gradations. We'll have a look in particular at the GeForce GTX 465 SC model, with SC short for Super Clocked. NVIDIA managed to put a product out on the market, that does not run very hot and is not at all noisy. A Fermi product that should be more affordable yet has less active shader processors at it's disposal and the memory configuration is now brought down towards 1024 MB (gDDR5/256-bit). This all means that several other shader clusters inside that GPU have been disabled, on a card that looks like the Siamese twin of the GeForce GTX 470.
